TERROIR were engaged by Infrastructure NSW to deliver, in association with INSW and the Office of the Government Architect, the Parramatta Strategic Framework. This project builds upon our methodology established in other similar projects where a combination of stakeholder engagement and spatial insights are bought together in a new form of city organisation document which co-ordinates and synthesises political and spatial arguments.
The project evolved in the context of a series of major State Government projects currently underway or about to commence in the Parramatta CBD and surrounds that require high level co-ordination. This coordination process brought together Parramatta City Council, the Department of Planning and Environment, Transport for NSW and the policy, strategy and planning documents used by each (from the Plan for Growing Sydney to Parramatta Community Strategic Plan, Smart City Masterplan, Parramatta Economic Development Strategy and others).
The Strategic Framework is now key document in guiding the future development of Parramatta, bridging as it does the high level policy ambitions of The Plan for Growing Sydney and more detailed Structure Plans and Precinct Plans that will be developed as a result of the Framework.
