Gerard Reinmuth is giving a paper at the 4th international Utzon Symposium at the Sydney Opera House (March 7-9). Gerard will present his research in Can Lis, Utzon's seminal house in Mallorca.
In taking a "practitioner's approach" to interviews, archival research and site visits to Can Lis, Gerard debunks various myths about Utzon. Most importantly, the research deepens our awareness of just why he was a great architect, beyond the myth of the genuis who produced lovely sketch concepts.
