Since joining the practice in 2015 Nicky has been Senior Architect on the University of Tasmania’s student housing project under construction in central Hobart. Nicky also provides input into office management, project submissions and has a design lead on other fitout and residential projects within the office.
Nicky’s professional experience has always involved a reach beyond traditional disciplinary boundaries. Her experience gained as Associate at Gregory Burgess Architects and her work as in-house architect for Victorian local governments has developed her strong interest in institutional and public buildings. Her skill and expertise with large client bodies enables her to assist in establishing complex client briefs, guide clients through the various complexities of the design process and ensure a considered design solution. She is also accomplished in bespoke interiors having completed a number of hospitality projects in central Melbourne. These projects demonstrate an innate understanding of the client’s required brand and an ability to design atmospheres that support that brand. Her commitment to fine detailing is achieved through established relationships and collaboration with the builder and craftsmen.
Nicky has maintained a continual engagement with the architecture community through her contribution to tutoring at Melbourne University and RMIT. Now as a Tasmanian resident she volunteers for the Hobart RAIA contributing to their Open house programme and the PALS course.
