Instruments, Third Spaces, Thneeds

Professor Gerard Reinmuth delivered a lecture on August 15 as part of the UTS International Lecture Series, titled: Instruments, Third Spaces and Thneeds: An Architecture for the Age of the Lorax.

In the lecture, Gerard charts a history starting with August 15, 1969 (Woodstock) and 10 year jumps thereafter, marking key shifts in world politics and key failures in climate policy.  Ending in 2019 with the Australian Prime Minister in Tuvalu, refusing to phase out coal power, Gerard asks how this meta-political narrative might influence and inform an architectural position.
