Tschumi vs Koolhaas

Professor Gerard Reinmuth has presented his new work on “third spaces” in the age of the post-political and explored these through a comparison of the work of Rem Koolhaas and Bernard Tschumi.

The comparison reviews some of the critique of the political agency of the work of Koolhaas and OMA and against a theoretical backdrop provided by Ranciere, Zizek, Soja and others, concluding that Tschumi’s earlier work may be worthy of reconsideration in light of contemporary conditions.

The lectures were held in a series of “salon” sessions at KADK (the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts) with a range of academics and students who assisted in interrogating the propositions.
