TERROIR have been nominated for the International Prize run by the The Iakov Chernikhov International Foundation (ICIF).
The Prize was established in 2006, and is run as a biennial award. The 50,000 Euro prize is given to the best among the contemporary architects of the young generation – up to 44 years old - for a body of work which demonstrates "the most original, authentic and innovative concept of architecture".
This year's curator is Stefano Boeri, editor of Abitare. Previous curators were Zaha Hadid and Patrik Schumacher in 2006 and Elizabeth Diller and Ricardo Scofidio in 2008. The curators are assisted by a panel of international "experts". TERROIR was nominated for the prize by pne of thse experts, Tom Kovac.
Previous winners were studio DOGMA in 2006 and Junya Ishigami (Junya Ishigamy+Associates) in 2008.
This year's prizewinner will be announced in November.
