Gerard Reinmuth will be a keynote lecturer at the 2010 Metropolis Laboratory in Copenhagen. The 2010 Laboratory will focus on issues of spatial transformation, gaming and art practice in the transformation of our cities.
Other keynote speakers include Steve Graham, Dr Cameron Cartiere and Drew Hemment.
Using examples from his native Australia and its multicultural cities, Gerard will contend that cultural sustainability is a spatial issue, particularly in Scandinavian contexts where new cultures literally move into spatial frameworks envisaged and constructed for extremely homogenous populations. He will also discuss these issues in the context of the push to brand cities as they compete on an international market.
